responsibilities

The Responsibilities setting allows you to define who is responsible for processing various types of requests.

Multiple persons can be made responsible for a specific request type. All of these individuals will receive a notification of the request; once one of them has approved the request, the notification will be removed from the others.

Navigate to Responsibilities in the Settings menu to see the following.

Types of Responsibilities

types

If we briefly ignore the first 2 columns, the remaining columns all state a different type of responsibility when it comes to processing requests. The following are displayed:

  • Responsible for Timestamps: The individual who should process any timestamp alteration requests of this employee. Requests will be sent when an employee edits their working time. It is possible to allow users to change their timestamps without requiring approval; please take a look at the Permissions article
  • Responsible for Holiday Requests: The individual who should process any holiday requests of this employee.
  • Responsible for Comp Time Requests: The individual who should process any comp time requests of this employee.
  • Responsible for Other Leave Requests: The individual who should process any other leave requests of this employee. There is no limit to the amount of other leave that can be requested. It is usually accepted in special circumstances only. As a result, you may wish to assign a senior manager as the responsible person in this instance.
  • Responsible for Timesheet Reports: The individual who should process employee timesheet reports of this employee. This is the person who is entitled to close the timesheet report under the +M column.
The person responsible for processing requests must be set to manager. You can define this in the User Management menu.

Roles

These define the levels within the department, or more precisely, who is responsible for processing a request type of this level of employee.

In most instances, normal managers and users are processed by the department leader. The department leader would then have their requests processed by a senior level manager. Whether the standby for a department leader is processed by a department leader themselves is for you to decide.
