TimeTac allows you to create work schedules where it is possible to define different types of hours for different time frames. These can include different rates of overtime for example.

Once you have selected a work schedule on the left and a weekday in the middle panel, the Daily Schedule will appear in the right hand panel.

By default, this panel will have an existing entry from 00:00 to 24:00, stating Working Hours under the Type of Hours column. This will suit most working scenarios. However, there are alterations that can be made.

In this example, any hours worked between 00:00 and 24:00 will count as working time. Restrict the hours that your employees can work by changing the hours. Simply double click on either figure to open a dropdown menu. If these values were to be changed to 08:00 and 20:00, only time tracked inside this period will be counted.

If there is a period of time in which no hours are defined in the Daily Schedule, then any time tracked during this time period will not be recorded. In the above example, any time recorded around 06:00 would not be logged, as it is outside the permitted working hours.

Type of Hours

The following types of hours can be assigned in the Daily Schedule:

  • Working Hours: These are normal working hours.
  • Book working time automatically as per work schedule: Mainly targeted towards high level managers who are frequently away from the normal working environment, this time will be recorded automatically in advance. For example, if the time period 08:00 – 12:00 is defined, then a timestamp for this period will automatically be recorded in advance of that day. If you intend on using this, please feel free to e-mail any enquiries to us at to ensure that this will work for you.
  • Overtime 25%: Any time worked during this period will earn an additional premium of 25% in addition to the standard rate.
  • Overtime 50%: Any time worked during this period will earn an additional premium of 50% in addition to the standard rate.
  • Overtime 75%: Any time worked during this period will earn an additional premium of 75% in addition to the standard rate.
  • Overtime 100%: Any time worked during this period will earn an additional premium of 100% in addition to the standard rate.
  • Overtime Standard: If you wish to define a working period as “overtime”, but deal with the additional premiums in another manner, then you can specify this type of hour. This will show alongside the Working Hours in the Timesheet Report, but no automatic premium will be added
If you have any special requirements for overtime, then please feel free to contact us at to discuss your enquiry and how it can be implemented.
