Live time tracking is the process of recording your attendance and working hours as you are doing the activity. Essentially, you arrive at work, begin your time tracking and then stop that time tracking when you leave. You can also record your break times in this manner too. All records of time are recorded as timestamps in TimeTac.
You can start and stop time tracking during the day, if you leave the workplace for example, and the total amount of working hours and breaks will be recorded. Your first time tracking event of the day will be considered your arrival time for that day, while the last event will be considered your departure.
Live Time Tracking Methods
Within the browser version of TimeTac, users of Employee Time Tracking can click on the play symbols beside and on the to begin time tracking.
Users of Project Time Tracking have more options: they can expand the individual projects in the display and click on the play symbol beside the relevant task. They can then switch between tasks by clicking on the relevant play symbol of the next activity.
Alternatively, if you know the name of the specific task, you can type the name into the Quick Start dropdown menu, then select the task when it appears in the list.
Another option is via the Tasks: Live Start menu, where you can filter the display between favourite tasks, to-dos and more. Simply click on the relevant button to begin time tracking.
Regardless of how you begin time tracking, you can see your current status near the top-right of the display.
Alternatively, if it has been enabled for you, it is also possible to track time from one of our smartphone apps for iOS, Android or Windows Phone. You can easily track time when outside of the office.
