The TimeTac smartphone app allows employees to record working time from outside the office. The core functionality of TimeTac is present in the app: you can track working times live, as well as at a later date, view your timestamps and bookings, as well as your monitoring and requesting annual leave. The apps also function offline, synchronising the data when a connection is established once again, allowing for convenient time tracking in areas of no coverage or while travelling abroad.
Login
After downloading the TimeTac app from the Google Play Store, proceed to the login screen of the app. Input your Username and Password. You can optionally choose to save this login data, then press .
Home Screen
If you are not currently tracking time, a prompt will be displayed on the home screen telling you how to record working time. If a task is currently running, then you will see a display with the Task, as well as the Duration of the currently running task.
The button allows you to access the memo and expenses for the currently running task. The button ends the currently running timestamp.
The menu to navigate to other screens is located in the top-right hand corner.
Live Time Tracking
Swipe left to access the projects and tasks display. Navigate through the list, using filters if desired, and select a task to begin recording. A confirmation overlay will appear that the time tracking has begun. Swipe back to the screen to see the newly updated running task.
Add Timestamp
Navigate to in the app menu. Here you can add timestamps at a later date, once the task has been completed.
Specify the Start and values for the timestamp. Select the from the list and provide an optional note. Click on to confirm.
Depending on your user permissions, a Manager may have to approve your timestamp request.
Show Timestamps
Navigate to to see a list of your working times.
You can use the date picker of the plus and minus buttons to quickly switch between dates.
Show Bookings
The option shows you any appointments or planned events that you may have created. These function as appointment reminders for you to complete a certain task. You can tap on the booking to begin tracking time for that activity.
Bookings can only be created from within the desktop version of TimeTac.
Leave Day Overview
This screen provides a detailed breakdown of your leave entitlement for the current and next periods. It displays the original entitlement, with any approved or requested absences deducted, providing the residual leave total.
Request Absence
The display allows users to input a request for time off. Filling out the necessary fields and submitting the request will forward a notification to their relevant manager, who will be able to approve the request.
Department Calendar
The displays the absences of other employees within your department. This allows you to see whether a colleague is present on a particular day before planning an important meeting. Whether the type of absence can be seen is customisable.
Status Overview
This menu option offers you the ability to see the online status of employees within your department, as well as the current project they are working on, should you be using Project Time Tracking.
Logout
The logout functionality can be found in the menu of the app. Logging out of the smartphone app does not automatically end the currently running task.
